On Sunday 14 October, the Brisbane Samba School did a combined performance and workshop at the annual Multicultural Festival in Roma Street Parkland. We started the show with a short and poweful performance, then invited the many kids to come to the stage, where we gave them shakers, agogos and tamborims so that they could join in. Remko did some basic instruction, and within a few minutes everyone was playing. This caught the attention of a group of Brazilians from Bahia, who couldn't resist dancing after being invited to do so! Following the workshop, we had many enquiries about the samba school, and we look forward to welcoming new members soon. We still want to grow so there is room for more!
